Beach days

I don't know what the weather's like where you are, but we've hit that peculiar part of RI summer known alternately as "the dog days," "fry an egg on the sidewalk hot," or my personal favorite "the brain-melting stupifyingly horrendous days of horribleness." There's only one thing to do when this particular part of the season rolls around: get the heck out of town. So for the past couple of weekends, we've headed out to the Cape, where Aden bonded with his cousin Judah, trekked through the woods, climbed boulders, and further nurtured his inner fish. The highlight for him, though, was playing in buckets. Go figure.

Instant joy - just add water...

... or swings, or the park, or the porch, or people, or... well, just about anything that's outside and active. Luckily for Aden (and the rest of us), there's a lot of that sort of stuff going on right now!

Beachin' it up

Summer weather has come to New England... a month late. Not that I'm complaining, mind you - I don't mind a cool summer. But now that the heat has arrived, we're making up for lost time with as much time at the beach as possible! With a little grillin' and chillin' to mix things up.

Oh, and the dodgeball-esque shot? There's a story there...

Summer swings & things

Wait... another month has passed? Again? That's crazy - it was last month just a moment ago.

Ah, well, I guess summer will do that, even if it's a somewhat rainy summer. Luckily, there have been just enough sunny days to snap the following photos:

Wild weekends

... well, for a toddler, anyhow. That definition of wild seems to include multiple trips to the park, playing in an empty wading pool, wearing whatever the heck you feel like, eating hot dogs, going to an outdoor art fair, asking "what's dat?" at every stall in the art fair, and making silly faces on command. Not a bad definition, now that I think about it....
